Wesabe Springboard
Wesabe Springboard is a web services platform that allows banks, credit unions,
and other institutions to integrate Wesabe's consumer financial management tools
directly into their web sites. Since launching the first social financial management site
in November, 2006, Wesabe has continually been recognized as the leading innovator for
“Money 2.0” web sites, creating tools help consumers understand their finances and get
the most for every dollar they spend. Wesabe's online community has proven that consumers
are very eager to find the best financial and social tools to help them reach their financial
goals. Wesabe Springboard draws on our experiences and technology to bring the same
benefits to financial institution web sites. Rather than seeing your customers turn to
third parties for help with their finances — some of whom commodify financial institutions
down to nothing more than an interest rate — you can bring the best tools to them through
your own site, building on customer services strengths and connecting your members with each
other.
What features are available through Wesabe Springboard?
Banks and credit unions can select any or all of the Springboard suite of applications, including:
Account management — help consumers see exactly where their money is going via custom tags or labels. Identify budget “hot spots” and set up spending targets.- Goals — users create financial goals and track their progress.
Groups — members join or create interest groups to ask questions, share advice
or offer support.- Tips — side-by-side comparison of merchants, showing aggregate spending and satisfaction data, as well as user-generated tips.
Widgets— let consumers interact with their financial data when and where they
want with the Springboard Mac Dashboard Widget, Vista Widget and Wesabe Mobile for cell phones.
What service models are available for Wesabe Springboard?
Credit unions and banks can implement Springboard through either a fully-hosted web personal finance management (PFM) solution, known as Wesabe Springboard Web PFM, or a web services architecture known as Wesabe Springboard Web Services.
What is the Wesabe Springboard Web PFM configuration, and who should use it?
Wesabe Springboard Web PFM is a fully-hosted version of the Springboard tools. Wesabe will work with you to created a branded version of the Wesabe site, including those features you want to offer, and will launch and host that site for you, as an add-on to your existing web presence. The Web PFM configuration is best suited to institutions that want fast deployment, very low integration costs, and no or very few changes to their existing web presence. The Web PFM approach is especially good for institutions that are already working with external hosting and development providers, and wish to have a deployment with minimal impact on those providers. Wesabe launched a Web PFM site for the Telegraph Media Group in November, 2008, which is available at telegraph.wesabe.com, and which demonstrates the capabilities of the Springboard Web PFM approach.
What is the Wesabe Springboard Web Services configuration, and who should use it?
Wesabe Springboard Web Services builds on Wesabe's extensive experiences with our REST-based public API, which we launched in 2007, to provide Wesabe's capabilities to financial institutions that want tighter integration between Wesabe's services and their own capabilities. The Web Services configuration allows financial institutions to have complete control over the look and feel of the Wesabe Springboard features within their site, and allows full integration with other services such as single-sign on authentication, automated transfers, and bill pay. The Web Services configuration is compatible with Java and .NET-based platforms, as well as any system that can make web requests, including mobile and constrained platforms.
