Jason KnightJason Knight is a co-founder and our CEO.

With more than 10 years of experience marketing and selling products, Jason Knight saw first-hand the vast amounts of data that businesses compile on their target audiences. As a consumer, he felt a real inequity – he didn't know nearly as much about the places he was shopping as they knew about him. Recognizing how powerful it would be if consumers could aggregate and share their insights on businesses, he joined forces with Marc Hedlund to create Wesabe.

Prior to Wesabe, Jason served as vice president of marketing and business development of Asurion Asia Pacific, where he signed the company’s first Asian carrier, Korea Telecom Freetel, and launched Asurion’s consumer direct marketing campaign. He was previously a Tokyo-based managing director at Ogilvy & Mather, and held executive positions at Excite@home and Kendara. Jason served in the Marine Corps for four years, and is a graduate of the University of California Santa Cruz.

Jason's most popular tip does the math on how much you can save on your cable bill. One of his goals includes sending his kids to college.

Marc HedlundMarc Hedlund is a co-founder and Chief Product Officer.

When Marc Hedlund caught his bank making sneaky changes to its account terms in order to squeeze more fees from him, he had enough. When searching for a better bank, he was surprised at the number of people who were also dissatisfied. He began to think about how powerful it would be if a community could pool its collective knowledge about businesses so they all could benefit from the best values and experiences. Marc co-founded Wesabe to help people better understand their spending and to foster a community dedicated to helping each other get the most from our money.

Marc was recently an entrepreneur-in-residence at O’Reilly Media. Prior to O’Reilly , he was VP of engineering at Sana Security, an enterprise software startup developing an “immune system” for protecting servers from worms and hackers. Marc co-founded and was CEO of Popular Power, a distributed computing startup. He also founded and led Lucas Online, the internet subsidiary of Lucasfilm, Ltd; was director of engineering at Organic Online; and was CTO at Webstorm, where he wrote one of the Internet’s first shopping cart applications in 1994. Marc is a graduate of Reed College.
